USB Remotes (Stream Deck)

CueStudio 2 drives Elgato Stream Deck hardware directly over USB; no Companion, no Elgato Stream Deck software needed. Open Tools ▸ USB Remotes… to set it up.

#Supported devices

Stream Deck V2, MK.2, XL, XL V2, Plus (keys and dial 1), Neo, Pedal, and the original 2017 Stream Deck. The Stream Deck Mini is recognised but has not been tested on hardware, if key images look wrong on one, say so and it can be corrected.

#Before you start

Quit the Elgato Stream Deck software (or Companion) if it is running: it holds exclusive control of the device. CueStudio 2 takes over once those apps are closed.

#Default layout

The bottom row shows GO, Pause/Resume, Stop, and PANIC.
All other keys show cues from the active list, with the cue number, name, colour, playing state, and a live progress bar.
Hold STOP for one second to escalate to PANIC.

#Playhead following vs. paging

Follow Playhead (default): the key grid scrolls automatically with the armed cue, so the next cue is always visible.
Manual paging: the last two keys become ◀/▶ page buttons. Navigate pages manually.

#Customising keys

Click a key in the USB Remotes window to select it; an editor panel appears below:

Action: Automatic (default layout), Blank, GO, Pause, Stop, Panic, a specific cue by number, Previous Cue, Next Cue, Mute All, Master Up, Master Down, or a Clock display.
Clock display types: Elapsed time, Remaining time, or Wall clock (HH:MM:SS).
Custom label: override the displayed text on that key.
Custom colour: tint the key background with any of the nine cue colours.
Cue assignment: search cues by name or number and click to assign.

#Display settings

Brightness: 10–100%, adjusted live.
Text scale: 80–150%, scales all on-deck text.

#Stream Deck Plus dials

Dial 1 turn: adjusts the grand master volume.
Dial 1 press: toggles Mute All.

#Live preview

The key grid in the USB Remotes window is a live mirror of the physical deck: it updates in real time with the same faces and progress bars as the hardware keys.
